The brown she-cat shuffled worriedly as she glanced around her. It was getting dark, and cold. Her mate shouldn't be taking so long to get out here. Licking her ruffled fur, she listened to the wind howling around her, like a pack of wolves joined in a song. With a shudder, the cat's green eyes narrowed as the bushes below the fence rustled. Scrambling down the wall, she hissed into the bushes. ''Yellowclaw?'' The dark tom emerged from the darkening forest. ''Yellowclaw, it is you!'' She ran forward to nuzzle him. ''Yellowclaw, the kits are going to be born soon, I don't know what to do!'' Yellowclaw took a step back, his eyes narrowed. ''No, Acorn, it's over. I can't ever claim these kits as my own, not after what you did! Besides, no cat in TimberClan must ever know that my mate was a former kittypet.''
Acorn's eyes widened in horror. ''W-What do you mean by over and was?'' She hissed, fear glistening in her clear gaze. ''You know what I mean, Acorn.'' Yellowclaw growled, turning his back on her. Acorn took a step back, her paws scraping of the wall which loomed over her from behind. ''Yellowclaw.. you told me you loved me! You promised you'd be there forever!'' Yellowclaw curled his lip in a snarl. ''Not anymore, kittypet! Get out of here, before I claw your trout out, you pathetic scrap of mouse-dust!'' Acorn flattened herself to the ground. This can't be happening! Acorn turned to dart away from him, trying to stop the flow of tears that threatened to flood her face.
''I'll be there forever, Acorn.'' ''Forever?'' ''Yes. I love you.'' ''You promise?'' ''I promise.'' ''Then... then I can admit that... I love you too.''
A large cat stepped out from behind Yellowclaw. His eyes glowed strangely and stars sparkled at his paws. ''Is the deed done?'' Yellowclaw turned and spat at him, his eyes filled with grief. ''Yes! How dare you call yourself a StarClan cat! I love her! I need to go-'' He was interrupted with a spit. ''You will do as I say. Without one with Herbs, ShineClan would be lost.'' Yellowclaw turned away from him. ''I don't know what you're talking about. I don't even care. All I know is I just lost her. I lost her. I lost my kit. I lost all my family.''
